What this chapter covers

This chapter covers special woven fabrics and decorative textile work: pile and chenille fabrics, terry towelling and tufted fabrics, tulle and lace, narrow woven fabrics, labels and badges, braids and trimmings, and embroidery. The notes draw the boundaries precisely — a narrow woven fabric of 58.06 is one no wider than 30 cm with selvedges on both sides (whether woven that way or cut from wider pieces), plus flattened tubular fabric and folded bias binding within the same width. Embroidery of 58.10 also takes in appliqué work made with sequins, beads or decorative motifs and metal- or glass-thread work that leaves the ground partly visible. Articles of metal thread used in apparel and furnishing belong here as well.

1. Bu fasıla 59. fasılın 1 no.lu notunda bahsedilen emdirilmiş, sıvanmış, kaplanmış veya lamine edilmiş

dokumaya elverişli maddelerden mensucat veya 59. fasılda yeralan diğer eşya dahil değildir.

2. Atkı ipliklerinin, çözgü ipliklerinin üzerinden kaydırılan kısımları kesilerek uçları kaldırılmamış atkı

iplikli kadife ve pelüşler de 58.01 pozisyonunda yeralır.

3. 58.03 pozisyonunun tatbikinde " gaz mensucat " tabirinden satıhlarının tamamı veya bir kısmı

sabit ve hareketli ipliklerden meydana gelen ve içinden atkı ipliklerinin geçeceği bukleler meydana

getirecek şekilde yarım dolama, tam dolama veya daha fazla dolama yaparak hareketli ipliğin

sabit ipliklerden geçtiği çözgü iplikli mensucat anlaşılır.

4. 58.04 pozisyonu 56.08 pozisyonundaki ipten, sicimden veya halattan düğümlü ağ mensucata

tatbik edilmez.

5. 58.06 pozisyonunun tatbikinde " dokunmuş kordelalar " tabirinden:

(a) Her iki tarafı kendinden kenarlı (dokunmuş, yapıştırılmış veya başka türlü üretilmiş) olmak

üzere eni 30 cm.yi geçmeyen (ister böyle dokunmuş isterse daha geniş parçalardan

kesilmiş olsun) dokunmuş mensucat;

(b) Boru şeklinde dokunmuş, yassılaştırılmış haldeki genişliği 30 cm.yi geçmeyen mensucat; ve

Dokunarak elde edilen saçaklı kordelalar 58.08 pozisyonunda yer alır.

6. 58.10 pozisyonunda " işlemeler " tabiri diğerleri anlamında, pul, payet, boncuk, mensucat veya

diğer maddelerden süsleme mahiyetindeki motiflerin dikilmesi suretiyle yapılan aplikler, metal

veya cam ipliklerle dokumaya elverişli mensucat üzerine yapılan ve zemini tamamen kaplamayan

işlemeler anlamındadır. Bu pozisyon iğne işi duvar halılarına uygulanmaz (58.05 pozisyonu).

7. 58.09 pozisyonundaki eşyaya ilaveten, metal ipliklerle yapılmış olup, giyim eşyasında,

döşemecilikte ve benzeri işlerde kullanılan eşya da bu fasıla dahildir.
